Sealed chamber body

Mini SHED is an airtight rectangular compartment capable of measuring automotive components. The surface inside the warehouse will not adsorb hydrocarbons, and the volume compensation system can balance the internal pressure changes caused by temperature cycling and atmospheric pressure changes. Wall design can create good heat dissipation.

A sealed room is a self-supporting building constructed with 50mm thick insulation panels. The inner wall and floor are made of stainless steel, and the connection joints between the steel plates are airtightly welded. The exterior wall panel is made of galvanized sprayed steel plate (color to be determined or RAL9002 milky white).

The entrance and exit doors for the test samples are open outward. For safety reasons, the main door switch only provides manual mode.

Install expansion silicone rubber sealing rings on the outer frame of the entrance and exit doors of the test samples. When the expansion sealing ring is inflated, the strong inner skeleton of the gate frame can achieve the required airtightness of the expansion sealing ring. The materials inside the warehouse have been evaluated to assess their physical properties for volatilization or absorption of methanol fuel and HC.

The background emission of the sealed chamber itself is less than 1ppmHC.

Sealed room lighting
The explosion-proof lighting fixture is installed on the observation window outside the warehouse to provide illumination for work inside the warehouse.

This warehouse does not require additional control instruments to control the maximum allowable pressure difference of ± 100 Pa between the atmosphere inside and outside the warehouse. Can adjust the rated volume by ± 7%. The rated volume repeatability is within ± 0.5%.



The system includes two separate compensating airbags.



Airbag 1:

Located on the outside of the top compartment plate, it is connected to the volume inside the compartment through two pipes equipped with small circulating fans and airtight valves. During the emission test, continuous air sweeping makes the air inside the airbag a part of the entire chamber's air.



Airbag 2:

Located on a porous thin plate at the top of the warehouse. Its internal volume is connected to the atmosphere through a pipeline equipped with valves and fans.



When the temperature of the airbag 1 increases or the atmospheric pressure decreases, it inflates due to the increase in volume and contracts when the temperature decreases or the atmospheric pressure increases.



Inflate airbag 2 at high atmospheric pressure or (and) low cabin temperature and pressure.



Before each experimental phase, in order to determine the starting volume, two airbags need to be emptied to a level with good repeatability. The porous tube inside the airbag flattens the airbag.

Temperature regulation/airflow management system

The regulation principle uses a two-stage water circulation circuit to indirectly regulate the internal air. The large-area copper heat exchanger and recirculation fan are arranged behind an independent air conditioning partition on the rear wall.

Temperature range+10 ° C to+60 ° C



The temperature error is ± 0.5 K within the range of+15 ° C to+45 ° C, which is better than the requirements of EPA and EC regulations; ± 1 K at temperatures below+15 ° C and above+45 ° C.



According to EPA and EC regulations, the temperature change rate is non-linear due to the different parameters of the sealed chamber.

Fresh air ventilation fan

There is an electrically driven airtight valve and a fresh air fan outside the warehouse wall. Air exceeding 850 cubic meters per hour is directly taken from clean air outside the warehouse to ensure cleanliness inside. The warehouse door needs to be manually opened.



The manufacturer provides imported flanges, and the user is responsible for connecting the inlet duct connected to the clean air outside to the flange on the warehouse.


Measurement system (HFID), (recommended manufacturer Horiba)

HFID is integrated on the control panel in the operating room. Two sampling hoses (one electrically heated and the other non electrically heated) connect the HFID from the control panel in the operating room to the compartment wall.
